Paper published in ACS Nano

Our collaborative study with Prof. Tae-Eun Park on brain delivery systems for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease has been published in ACS Nano. In this study, we have utilized the microphysiological systems (MPS) mimicking human blood-brain barrier on a chip to discover BBB-penetrating aptamers. The MPS-derived aptamers showed remarkable BBB penetration efficiency, led by clathrin-mediated transcytosis. By adopting the BBB-penetrating aptamer, we also showed noticeable efficacy of brain delivery of nanoparticles as well.
