We are thrilled to announce that two of our dedicated lab members, Juyoung Seong and Suhyun Kim, have successfully passed their final doctoral dissertation defenses.
Juyoung Seong joined our group in March 2021 as an MS/Ph.D. integrated program student. Her doctoral research focused on advanced strategies for motor neuron and neuromuscular junction regeneration. During her 5.5-year graduate journey, she spent approximately 4 years as a visiting student in Prof. David Mack’s laboratory at the University of Washington (UW), actively spearheading impactful collaborative and interdisciplinary research.
Suhyun Kim entered the lab in March 2020 as an MS/Ph.D. integrated program student. Her research centered on disease diagnosis and targeted therapeutics utilizing functional magnetic nanoparticles and nanorobotics. She comprehensively investigated the design, synthesis, and biomedical applications of diverse functional nanomaterials. She spent a year as a visiting researcher in Prof. Wei Gao’s group at Caltech, where she successfully led innovative projects on nanorobotics-mediated active brain drug delivery.
Heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Seong and Dr. Kim on achieving this ultimate academic milestone! We are incredibly proud of their achievements and wish them the absolute best in their future careers.
